Xie Yeye - 谢爷爷

Xie Yeye, or Steve Shaner, has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Harding University and a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Yeye started his career in story telling in Little Rock where he was a news photographer for KATV Channel 7. He also owned and operated a photography studio and advertising agency.
Yeye was the primary story teller as the director of public relations at the University of the Ozarks before moving back to his hometown area of Chicago. In Chicago, Steve worked in the printing and direct marketing industry. In 2002 Steve created Image Marketing & Communications, an integrated marketing communications consulting firm.
In 2008 he began teaching at Harding University. Xie Yeye teaches classes and advises advertising and public relations majors at Harding University. He also teaches an oral communication class on an English as a Second Language (ESL) level exclusively to international students at Harding.
Steve has worked as a visiting professor and led teams of Harding students for cultural exchange programs in Central America. From 2010 through 2019 he has worked in Bangkok, Thailand , as well as Hengyang, Wuhan, Xi’an, Zhuhai and Guangzhou, China .
He has a long list of professional awards and accomplishments, including recognition as a Distinguished Toastmaster, "Outstanding Young Man of America," DMA awards and way back when, he was the Arkansas Collegiate Press Association’s "Photographer of the Year."
Steve has been married to his wife Donna since 1975. They have two sons both of whom are married. They are also delighted to have four grandchildren, (three boys and one girl).
Throughout his life Steve has been journaling, collecting stories about life and recording them on film and digital.
